About

Our mission is to focus on community, education, opportunity, and service for young people who have been in the foster care system. We are a skill-building, professional organization that focuses on succeeding through community and relational support. We aim to equip foster youth to plan ahead for a better future. Our workshops span from attaining transferrable job skills and a good work ethic to providing mentors and healthy relational support. We want to empower a generation of foster youth who will embrace education and careers in the legal sector, especially advocacy. The law is a unique avenue for rising above circumstances and righting the wrongs that exist in our lives. By building skills, youth will be able to excel as a professional, while maintaining a grasp on the most basic life skills.

We want to encourage youth to seek jobs as lawyers, paralegals, police officers, parole officers, legislative aides, advocates and more. We also want to join hands in supporting alternative programs, recognizing that college is NOT simply “one size fits all.” While access to it should be an option, it is not the only option. Young people can immediately begin their careers in work-based internships, job training, and apprenticeships. While there are many resources and paths to take, having a real world understanding of navigating the systems can be tough. This too requires an understanding of advocating for one’s goals. That’s where we come in.

We want to prepare those who go directly into the workforce take on new challenges, advance in the job sector, and establish a healthy work-life balance in their respective fields. With so many innovators, our priority is to be a central networking force for collaboration with other organization to find the best outcomes. When we work together toward a common goal, the possibilities are endless.

By planting deep roots and surrounding youth with supporting communities, sustainable growth is inevitable. As a magnifying glass is placed upon outcomes in the system, success will only be realized with innovative problem-solving. There are some that must do the planting and watering. We have faith that growth will come. We want to be the starting point in for community partners that will invest in long-term goals rather than settle for short-term fixes.
