Transition to Community

Imagine a world in which young people were able to prepare for the hardships that they will inevitably experience as independent adults. This doesn’t mean that they would be immune to loss, heartbreak, or financial struggles. Instead, they would be equipped when those events occur.

Transitioning into a supportive community is one powerful step in accomplishing this goal.

No matter the circumstances a person comes from, the important test is how they respond when adversity is present. Arguably, the best way to learn and implement sustainable life skills is to have it modeled by trustworthy people. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

There shouldn’t be fear in reaching out for help, but there is. This fear is often accompanied by pride. Fear and pride cause those in need to turn inward and there may not be enough there to move forward in dark times.

Community is simply the collection of influences present in one’s life. Transitioning into community leads to support, opportunity, and a life of serving others.
